The International BMW Club Structure

Almost 75 years after the first BMW car was built, BMW AG is on an unprecedented expansion course. The BMW Club community is also gearing up for the challenges of the future.

The new international BMW Club structure has been divided into three regional sections since 01/01/2004: Europe, America and Asia-Pacific-Africa. Within these sections, the individual BMW Clubs are grouped together in national and regional umbrella organizations. An international section has also been created for the BMW classic and type clubs, which is intended to preserve the historic value of the brand.

The club structure is now based more closely on the global BMW sales structure and the intention is to deliver more efficient cooperation and support for both sides. The new structure is also supposed to make it easier for individual clubs that are not members of the umbrella organizations to join up.

The BMW Clubs International Council has been given a new structure from 01/01/2004 to reflect the current organizational framework. The new Council has 20 delegates. Europe is represented by the BMW Club Europa e.V. and will nominate up to four delegates on the basis of membership numbers. America, including Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific-Africa Section will each nominate a maximum of five delegates. BMW AG will also be represented by four delegates. The International BMW Classic and Type Clubs Section will be represented by two delegates.

The International BMW Club Office is a global coordination platform for communication between the club organizations, BMW Group Mobile Tradition, the central BMW sales offices, and the national BMW sales subsidiaries and importers.

It supports the operational side of the International Council of BMW Clubs in implementing its goals and functions. The focus of activities is communication and cooperation management, and proactive club organization development.

Currently more than 200,000 BMW enthusiasts are organized into a network of official BMW Clubs spanning the globe. The BMW Club organizations in the USA constitute the largest community of BMW fans, with one automobile and two motorcycle umbrella organizations listing around 115,000 members.

The European BMW Club community comes under the umbrella organization BMW Club Europa e.V. This has been in existence for 40 years and today embraces some 30,000 members in 190 clubs.

Further important club organizations are found in Africa, Asia (Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand), Dubai, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. In addition, many new BMW Clubs are currently being set up in Eastern Europe, East Asia, Latin America and China.

Aficionados come together within these numerous BMW Clubs to hold events and help each other by exchanging ideas and experiences on all aspects of BMW. These meetings inspire international friendships right across the world.
